The UK vs America

Vanilla Sky is called vanilla sky here in denmark aswell. Anyway, any of you seen Lars von Triers films? or other Dogma 95 films? They really sum up what european films are about

Vanilla Sky is a 'remake' of a Spanish film called Open Your Eyes.

Unlike Hollywood films (where we get most of them) - in the UK we only get a VERY small proportion of the films that actually get made in the rest of the world - ie the most mainstream ones. The masses don't like subtitles.

But back to the original question: British TV maybe better than American TV (although that's debatable) American cinema is vastly superior to UK cinema. America usually produces one classic film every year or two - the UK probably produces one every 10 years (if that). Any talent that is here usually heads straight to the US anyway (recently Chris Nolan, Mendes, Joe Carnahan, Bernard Rose etc etc etc etc) - not to mention actors. Unfortunately, the UK film scene is in a very sorry state indeed. [img]frown.gif[/img]
